A murder once again stains the Valmagne abbey with blood when the foreman of the abbey’s renovation site, supervised by the Compagnons du Devoir, falls from the top of the narthex. Murder or suicide? Elli, back in Valmagne, must uncover the secrets of some of the Compagnons’ pasts. Clément will be doubly shaken by what happens in the monastery and by the meeting with his biological parents.
